To rest or not to rest?

Saturday 6th, quick swim with the kids, did a total of about 600m.

Sunday 7th, did a bike ride to collect my car from the night before, I only left it 3 miles away but managed a total of 24.46 miles to collect it, took a route around the island, also a good way of clearing any remaining signs of alcohol poisoning, this took me 1.11.38 which is an avg. spd of 20.5mph, HR was steady at 125bpm avg and a max of 167. what a pleasure it is to be out on a bike and not fending off frost bite from the extremities.

Monday, rest day

Tuesday 9th, went to the gym after work did the usual run and bike session, good for instant weight loss as sweat buckets when working hard.

Wednesday 10th, swim session, did a total of about 2800m did a 10 min swim at the end of the session and managed 550m, not spectacular but I was happy to have got that far with tired arms.

Thursday another rest day, I wouldn't have gone out to train even if I was being paid, I wanted to stay in and cook dinner for the wife on her birthday, (I did manage to get out on the time trial bike in the afternoon and have a blast round the island, took me 1.04.35 to do 23.8 miles, an avg speed of 22.1 mph, feeling more confident on the bike now, but need to make more adjustments somewhere, first 12 miles were comfy but after that the seat felt a bit like a razor blade and was bloody uncomfortable)

Friday 12th, went for a quick run, 4.1 miles in 29 mins, slow start but managed to speed up a bit as I warmed up.

Saturday 13th, went for a x country run with the dog, did 6.26 miles very slowly avg pace was 8.41 mins / mile, felt knackered, very heavy legs didn't get going at all, so was happy to just go easy and look at the sights,

I don't think I've been overdoing it at all but will see how I feel over the next couple of days.
