Monday 5th April, went for a run out along the river bank, weather is brilliant, It,s so nice to be able to run out in shorts and T shirt, Did the 7 miles in 54.08, avg pace of 7.43/mile, nice and steady just enjoying the scenery.
Tuesday went over to Bungay to have a go at the 10 mile time trial, another evening with a breeze blowing into your face for the first 5 miles, I think I must have pushed to hard for the first half, got to about 7 miles and was knackered, completed the 10 miles in 25.11 mins, slightly disappointing when looking at the average speed for the 25 mile of 23.5mph and the speed of the 10 miler of 23.8 mph. will have another go next week, I'm sure I can do better.
Wednesday, I didn't do anything as far as training goes but I have been doing hard manual labour all week working at home, didn't fancy swimming as fell asleep. I used to be able to do a days work without thinking about it, but unfortunately now it kills me!!
Thursday 8th, after my easy day Wednesday, woke up early so took the dog for a 3 mile run out on the marshes, all nice and easy.
Then in the evening the Rock estate ride, a total of about 27.5miles nice and steady for me all the way around, a good social ride.
Friday, went for bike ride with son joe and my dad, we went out to Somerleyton so that Joe could have a go at the 10 mile TT route, he did well posting a time of 38 mins, we covered a total of 23.3 miles at a nice easy speed.
Saturday, went for a run down the sea front, did a total of 7.8 miles at 6.41 pace, this was very encouraging as didn't feel uncomfortable at all, If I can do some speed work now and not get injured should post some good run times in races. all seems much easier when the sun's out,
Sunday 11th, went out for a bike ride round the Bungay Tri route, did a total of 41 miles in 2hr 04 mins, a good head wind on the way home, need to do some better bike training to improve the time trials, Then with stiff legs had to go for a quick run with the family, fortunately we only went 2.2 miles which eased my legs up a treat, should do recovery runs more often.
Another good week as far as training goes, and is so nice having time off work to fart about at home, teaching isn't so bad after all!
